YouTube video editing

Long-form edits built for watch time.

A YouTube video lives or dies on its first minute and the structure after it. Yash edits long-form with the same rule as short-form: every frame has a job.

What you get

Structure, then style.

01

Story structure

Footage is reorganised around a clear arc: promise, context, payoff — with tangents cut.

02

First-minute rebuild

The opening delivers on the title and thumbnail promise immediately.

03

Retention pacing

Dead air removed, visual changes placed where attention typically dips.

04

B-roll & graphics

Supporting visuals, text callouts, lower thirds and simple motion graphics.

05

Sound & color

Clean, levelled audio, music beds, sound design and a consistent grade.

06

Shorts from the same footage

Optional vertical clips cut from each long-form video.

How long-form editing is scoped

Long-form projects vary far more than Shorts. A 12-minute talking-head video with light b-roll is a different job from a heavily graphic documentary-style piece. So rather than a one-size price, each project is scoped on:

  • Length of raw footage and target runtime
  • Number of cameras or audio sources
  • Level of b-roll, graphics and motion design
  • Publishing frequency and turnaround needs

What a retention-focused long-form edit looks like

  1. Open on the promise. Viewers clicked for something specific; the edit shows it’s coming within seconds.
  2. Remove friction. Repetition, false starts and long setups go. The video should feel shorter than it is.
  3. Re-earn attention. Visual resets — b-roll, angle changes, graphics — at the moments viewers tend to wander.
  4. Signpost the structure. Clear sections help viewers stay oriented on longer videos.
  5. End with momentum. A clean wrap and a reason to watch the next video, not a long goodbye.

Long-form + Shorts

The most efficient YouTube setups edit the long video and cut several Shorts from the same footage, so one recording session feeds the channel all week. See content repurposing for how that workflow runs.

Note: YASH EDITS’ public portfolio is currently vertical short-form. Long-form samples can be shared on request when you get in touch.

FAQ

Before we start.

Do you design thumbnails?

The focus is editing. If you need thumbnails as well, mention it — it can be discussed as part of the scope.

Can you edit multi-camera footage?

Yes — share all angles and separate audio files if you have them, and say so in the brief so the quote reflects it.

Do you upload to my channel?

No. You receive the finished file; uploads, titles and settings stay with you, which also keeps your channel access private.

How do I send footage?

Through a shared cloud folder — Google Drive, Dropbox or similar. Upload raw clips plus any references, logos, fonts or notes.

How do revisions work?

You review each edit and leave notes directly with Yash — no middlemen. The number of revision rounds is agreed per project before work starts.

I’m outside India — is that a problem?

No. The whole workflow is remote: shared folders, written briefs, async review notes and WhatsApp or email for quick questions. Pricing is in USD.
