Short answer
White-label video editing is priced three ways: per finished video (about $8 to $95 a short-form video), by editor hours (about $1,000 a month part-time to $4,000 full-time) or as full-service retainers from about $1,800 a month. Agencies then resell at their own markup.
The three pricing models
- Per finished video. You pay for each edit delivered, often in monthly packs. Cost follows your sales, so slow months cost less.
- Editor hours. You rent part or all of an editor’s month. Cheapest per video only when you keep them busy.
- Full-service retainers. Editing plus project management, strategy or scripting, priced as a monthly fee.

Working out your margin
Start from what you charge the client per video, subtract your editing cost per video, then subtract your own team’s time for briefs and reviews. Vidpros’ page mentions resellers marking up anywhere from 0 to 300 percent or more; where you land depends on your market and how much strategy you add on top. The reseller margin calculator does the first part of the sum for you.
Which model fits
- Fewer than ~100 short videos a month, or uneven volume: per video.
- Steady, high volume across many clients: editor hours can win, if you can keep the editor busy.
- You want strategy and scripting handled too: a retainer.
Hidden costs
- Your account manager’s time writing briefs and checking edits.
- Revision rounds beyond what’s included.
- Idle hours on hourly plans in a quiet month.
- Rush fees when clients send footage late.
